Riders seeking a quick and comfortable day in the saddle will find it aboard the Via Nirone. We Love Hardtails. The AKA is a proper mountain bike. A pedal up, pedal along, blitz down kind of affair with familiar geometry inspired by the big-hitting Mettle. Take it to the flow trails at your local trail center, go off-piste, or take it to your local BMX track – it’ll put a smile on your face. You’d think making a hardtail was as simple as picking a few decent geometry numbers, throw it together, and away you go… if only it was that easy. In fact, hardtails get steeper at sag, so we put a package together that ticks all the boxes with that in mind. A slack head angle, and comfortable seat tube angle, and a low bottom bracket put you ‘in’ the bike and in the thick of it. The AKA is the culmination of years of design experience, tweaking, and adapting the design until we were happy. Chuck a set of 27.5" wheels in it with a 140mm fork, or some 29" wheels with a 120mm fork. The same frame can handle both without sacrifice allowing for unlimited potential. With tire clearance up to 2.6" multiple water bottle mounts, and an adjustable drop out for running it singlespeed… Hold on, what’s that? Our ADS sliding dropouts on the AKA and Dr. Jekyll were actually designed and in our vaults for a couple of years prior to working on the new hardtails. We wanted to make something new and tidy with a built-in tensioner that offers 15mm of adjustment. It gives you the choice to run the bike with gears, without, or in a long or short chain stay, the brake caliper also moves with the axle, so no matter what, it always stays aligned with the rotor, win. - Triple bottle cage mount inside the front triangle for adjustable bottle placement or extra storage for longer adventures. The full-length and full ring-wrap chainguard on the Jamis Miss Daisy keep clothes and legs cleanly and safely out of the way of the chain. Those attractively painted fenders keep the rain and mud off the bike and the rider, and look cute to boot. The soft and comfortable foam grips feature a smooth vinyl cover that is embossed and stitched to match the saddle and decal theme. Those wide Brooklyn Speedway tires offer a large contact patch for greater stability, with a smooth tread surface for easy rolling, and hold plenty of air volume for a more comfortable ride. The pedals offer a non-slip insert that keeps feet and shoes in full contact even when wet for safe and secure pedaling, too. Every 16-inch Miss Daisy offers stabilizing training wheels that assist the young rider in learning how to pedal, steer, and balance a bike for the first time. The training wheel support struts attach securely both to the rear hub axle and the frame itself so that the training wheels don’t rotate out of plane with the rear wheel, preventing tips or spills.

Every Jamis youth bike uses size-specific items like grips, saddles, and cranks that enhance comfort and control by providing the best possible bike fit. We focus on designing frames with low stand-overs to take much of the awkwardness out of getting on board and dismounting after. We trim as much weight as we can with lightweight aluminum frames on many of the youth models and use aluminum parts where possible to work towards that make-it-as-light-as-possible goal.

OWNING CITY STREETS FOR 30 YEARS Our Codas have been some of our most popular bikes for decades, and for good reason. There's the smooth-riding Reynolds chromoly frames, the well-thought-out geometry, the heads-up riding position and the smart component selections, from the super-wide gearing range to the easy-adjust stems: these bikes are simply some of the best and most versatile around. THE BUTTERY RIDE OF QUALITY STEEL We're famous for our steel bikes and the Codas have a lot to do with that. No frame material makes more sense on beat-up city streets than steel. Why? Hit a baseball with a wooden bat and then hit one with an aluminum bat and you'll know why. You want your frame material to soak up those streets, not beat you with them. And we use only the best: Reynolds cold-worked, double-butted chrome-moly steel.

EASY ACCESS We're super proud of the Citizen's sleek frame design. With an arcing top tube for the "Men's" frames and S-bend top and down tubes for a super-low step-through "Women's" version. In fact, we hesitate to designate either with gender specific labels because the version with the easy-access, low step-over top tube is suitable for anyone with limited hip flexibility who might be challenged to swing a leg over the rear wheel when mounting & dismounting. EASY ON THE NECK & BACK A usual complaint from new or returning riders trying to get into the cycling groove is feeling uncomfortably perched forward with too much weight on their wrists and having to crank their necks backwards just to be able to see in traffic. We specifically designed our Citizens to remedy this. The large diameter 700c wheels push handlebar height up and shorter top tubes pull handlebars closer to the saddle, all to mitigate forward lean. Our 4-inch rise handlebars sweep back at a natural hand-grasp angle with a long-quilled or angle-adjustable stem that allows for a wide range of adjustment to tune handle bar height and reach perfectly for each ride. GEARED TO GO The shifting systems on all our Citizens feature long cage rear derailleurs, full-size 48/38/28T triple-chainring cranksets (single 44t chainring for Citizen base model) and big 11-32T or 14-34T gearing in the back. This gives you the dual advantage of having fairly tall gears for controlled pedaling at speed on descents as well as really low gearing for easier pedaling uphill. It's a rider-friendly combination that's made the Citizens a perennial favorite of recreational cyclists.
